Acusma/Chelpa Ferro In the installation Acusma, by the Rio-based group Chelpa Ferro, voices saying numbers from one to seven “spill out” of vessels interconnected by a web of wires. The piece of work evokes relations between that which is handcrafted and the electronic, the silence of form and the pulsation of music. Exhibited at SESC Avenida Paulista from November 2009 through February 2010, it marked the release of documentary film Chelpa Ferro,, of the Videobrasil Authors Collection series, which was screened at the same premises for the duration of the exhibition. Acusma/Chelpa Ferro was produced by Associação Cultural Videobrasil and SESC São Paulo, and included a mediation and workshops programme that brought visitors closer to the actions of Luiz Zerbini, Barrão, and Sergio Mekler in the territory of sound plasticity.
