The Videobrasil on Tour traveling exhibitions have been held since the 1980s, aiming to multiply the visibility of the works that have marked each edition of the International Electronic Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil. More than twenty traveling programmes have already taken works awarded by the Festival to dozens of cities in Brazil and abroad. The initiative is in line with strategies for forming an audience and consolidating the video art circuit, by systematically feeding it riveting examples of electronic production from the political south of the globe. The programme’s structure and concept became broader with Videobrasil on Tour 2006-2007, which took the highlights of the 15th Videobrasil (2005) to sixty different Brazilian cities, as well as to Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina, and Germany. A trilingual catalogue was launched along with the On Tour programme, containing detailed information about its content.
