Launch of Caderno SESC_Videobrasil 06 – Tourist/Driver

The editorial guideline for Caderno SESC_Videobrasil 06 – Tourist/Driver is the tension that establishes itself between those who lead and those who are led—not only in the fields of art and culture, but also in everyday life, in relationships, at work, in public spaces. At the Meeting, curator Fernando Oliva, the editor of Caderno, will mediate a debate with three of the publication’s collaborators: journalist Alcino Leite Neto, and artists Pedro Barateiro and Jonathas de Andrade, both of whom have been invited to the 29th Bienal de São Paulo.
For the Caderno, Jonathas de Andrade, from Alagoas, created a series of postcards entitled O clube (The club); Pedro Barateiro, from Portugal, devised a set of texts that transit from document to fiction, and illustrate real images. Alcino Leite Neto signs a collaborative script in partnership with the Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul, winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The debate will be preceded by talks in which the three will comment on their participation in the Caderno.
