Views on the Collection of Videobrasil Workshop
Art and politics: the counterculture of the screen

October 5 through 8, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
With: Lilian Amaral

Visual artist, researcher, and independent curator Lilian Amaral will coordinate a new workshop from the Views on the Collection of Videobrasil series at SESC Pinheiros. Based on the collection available at the Videobrasil Video Library and on a dialogue with the production presented at the 29th Bienal de São Paulo, the activity proposes for participants to experience the role of curators, pointing out tensions and fields of convergence.

A visual artist, researcher, and curator, Lilian Amaral holds a degree in arts from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (locally FAAP), as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in arts from the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo. She works with public art, urban revitalization, memory, social imagery, collaborative artistic practices, and heritage preservation.
