Caderno Videobrasil is an annual publication dedicated to in-depth reflection on contemporary art. Each edition has a theme, explored in essays, interviews, texts and original works by researchers, critics, and artists. The project, whose editorial concept is curatorial, has had editions coordinated by curators of the likes of Lisette Lagnado, Fernando Oliva, Marcelo Rezende, and José Augusto Ribeiro.
In 2011, the publication will reach its seventh edition with A Revista (The Magazine), featuring a selection of pages culled from Brazilian art and culture magazines dating from the 1920s to the 1990s, as well as exclusive projects commissioned from artists and writers and commenting on the magazine format. The edition was edited by Rodrigo Moura, curator of Instituto Inhotim, and graphic designed by designer and visual artist Marilá Dardot.
Previous editions have focused on the revival of performance (2005); the impact of the contemporary experience of mobility (2006); experimentalism in audio visual production (2007); spatial occupation strategies (2008); the feminine and feminism in art and life (2009); and contemporary power and influence relations (2010).
Caderno is available from the SESC online shop, SESC São Paulo units, and bookstores Cultura and da Vila (São Paulo).
