PERFORMANCE - 2005
Featuring essays on performance, the debut volume of Caderno Videobrasil was launched during the 15th Videobrasil International Electronic Art Festival, in September 2005. It proposes an alternative to the genre's official history, covering a time span ranging from Brazilian modernism to projects representative of current art in Latin America and the Middle East. Contents include essays by art critics Guy Brett and Luiz Camillo Osório, articles by Lebanese historian Rasha Salti, artist Ricardo Basbaum, and psychoanalist Suely Rolnik, an audio performance script by U.S.-based performer Coco Fusco and Guillermo Gómez-Peña, and an exclusive interview with Serbian performer Marina Abramovic.
