The widespread feeling of an imminent attack is explored by feitoamãos/F.A.Q. in this performance made out of smoke, projections, noise, and crowding. Comprised of Lucas Bambozzi, André Amparo, André Melo, Claudio Santos, Marcelo Braga, Rodrigo Minelli, and Ronaldo Gino, the group is an unfolding of the feitoamãos collective, which, since 1999, has produced collaborative research projects regarding languages and possibilities of electronic art. Ingrid Mwangi has traveled the realms of weirdness ever since she left her native country Kenya, at fifteen years of age, to go live with her mother in Germany. In her perfomances, Mwangi uses body and voice to express the singular personality that was molded by her life experience. “I deal with Black identity, with living amidst violence, but also with getting something positive out of it all,” she explains. For Mwangi, the body is the converging place where the two worlds that feed her meet. That is why it has become her tool. “My body is the only thing that I actually own,” she says. Lines and pixels that create digital representations of the world are the basis upon which Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain build their shapes and forms. In this performance, the duo makes live music and shows figurative images that are close to the concrete experience of reality, although in a pixelized, black-and-white form that enhances their character as digital representations. “My goal is to understand how representation builds the images of the world, and actually builds the world itself,” Angela Detanico explains.
